Anyone have a Spec-Ops backpack. I've been looking for a new made in the USA backpack. While I was doing somethings around the house today I started thinking about my Spec-Ops sheath that I have for my Busse TGLB says Made In The USA on it, so I got on their website and what do you know their backpacks are Made In The USA too! I got on YouTube and watched some reviews on them and was just wondering anyone had one and wanted to give their opinion?

Sorry, No experience with Spec-Ops, but I just love my Eagle pack. I believe they are still US made.
You might also try Tactical Tailor. My teenage son has yet to even damage his and this is after 3 years of trying. I KNOW their made in the US, right across town from me as a matter of fact.
Allan.

I have one of the org P.A.C.Ks that i bought in 2003 Iraq and love it. but great and its been through hell

I own a few items made by Spec-Ops and I think they produce some really good quality stuff. My backpack however, is from Diamondback Tactical. A little pricey, but 100% made in America and simply bombproof. Had it over 6 years now. Since it also serves as my hunting pack it has seen some serious woods time and it still barely shows any signs of wear. Notice the Spec-Ops sheath attached in the last photo...

So which pack did you end up buying? Update man!

Sorry I'm late to this, but I've owned one for many years and have known Spec-Ops equipment since they started popping up in the PX's in about 2002 - 2003. Reading on forums and reviews you would never know, but that pack is actually one of the most legit assault packs seen in theatre(because of there presence in the exchanges probably), that are very battle proven and highly acclaimed from those that have worn them on multiple tours, get out and use it as their number one motorcycle or edc carry for many more years. I think the only reason people aren't raving about them much these days is because the design has only changed marginally once since the beginning. I own a few Mystery Ranch packs that are designated for hunting and packing meat and a handful of Kifaru packs, most well over $500 a piece, and I don't think one of those packs is as tough as my old trusty THE pack. Of course the THE pack has no real suspension system so it's duties are limited, but in my opinion you won't find another pack that is stitched together better. It's an old design made to be an assault pack but I'm still beating mine up today working off-shore. It is still constantly being thrown into piles of packs and drug onto choppers and walking around foreign countries. The THE pack is legit! Everything SpecOps makes is good. They may not be the latest and greatest, like the 5.11 rush packs(garbage), or expensive Mystery Ranch/Kifaru and their designs (which are also great), but it's a very well made pack(and not just for the money like everyone says), it's on par quality wise with anything out there. I compare the tightness, quality, consistency of stitching and quality of materials used as well as how the pack has weathered over the years compared to top tier brands to attest to quality. Hope this helps if you haven't already made up your mind. I think this pack can be had for close to $100, and compared to a Kifaru Zippy, X ray, or Mystery Ranch 3day assault pack, that's a steal!

Also, that Diamondback Tactical pack pictured above is a very nice pack that is better quality than most out there as well. They don't get much acclaim either, but they are pretty bombproof. All of the good American tactical brands like Tactical Tailor, Eagle, Diamondback, and Spec ops make really good stuff compared to the imported Blackhawk, Maxped, 5.11, Condor etc. Truth is, the THE pack will probably always be available, but that Diamondback comes and goes as far as production is concerned....might want to get one while you can.

My dad gave me a spec-ops pack a while back. Used to use it every day for my gear at work. Threw it around, dragged it around, was not gentle at all. Has held up very well. Now I use it for the odd hike and such but it has served me very well.
