Heating that ebony just right to get those very nicely spaced spirals must have been a delicate and nerve wracking challenge. ;)

Well - HOWEVER YOU DID IT - you did it beautifully. Very beautiful and unique puukko. You keep going beyond the expected with such wonderful results!

That handle is wood, it can't be heated and twisted. It was carved by hand with woodworking tools.

The handle is made of ebony and is not heated and twisted. The channels are made with hand files. Triangular and semicircular. Then through sandpaper from # 120 to 800, glued to a pencil.🙂

Todor Hristov Todor Hristov - :) Yes, I knew all that. I was making an - apparently - very lame joke (thought the winking emoji would be a hint at the joke) :( I am a professional woodworker and understood how the spiraling needed to be done. SO - I was applauding your skill and success while trying to make what I thought was an obvious joke, as heating and twisting is a common technique with metal work.

The good thing is that you have now shared your technique - and so we can appreciate, even more, the skill involved. Sorry if I derailed your thread a bit. Was certainly not my intent.

Oh no. You didn't write anything bad. I'm glad I can just answer.🙂

I liked your joke
this knife is cool

My hands hurt just looking at that. I LOVE spiral/fluting work on handles, but my hands get angry with me whenever I do them. This looks great!

I'm blown away by the overall package. The owner will be tickled to own such a top level custom!!

Браво на Тебе!
