Hey there
As some of you gamers here know, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is soon upon us, and it's going to be amazing.
For those of you who don't, it's a stealth-action game that's completely redefined the genre. One of the biggest additions to it is the combat knife.

For the hell of it, I've decided to try to track down a real-life counterpart to this knife. I figure the blade length is about five inches.

Here are the pictures I'm mainly going by:

(these are all wallpaper-sized images, so I'm not going to post them as an image)

the closest I've come are these:

the SOG Pentagon
The problem with that knife is that one side is serrated, and the handle isn't quite right.

The S&W HRT3.
Problem with it is that it's about two inches too short

The Gerber Guardian Back-Up
Also too short, plus the blade is black

I'm not looking to spend more than $120 since this will mainly be a display piece. Anyone have any leads?

Thanks guys!

I'm pretty sure it's just one of the older Gerber Guardians. Tom Clancy is a nut when it comes to gear. He always has to explain exactly what model nightvision goggles someone uses and how it's superior to the last model...
I don't really game, but I read Penny-arcade which is close enough. I even recall looking at a comic they did and thinking "That sure looks a lot like a Gerber Guardian."

Can't help you with that knife, but my brother-in-law was living with us for a month at the start of the year and he has an Xbox. I made the big mistake of starting a game of Splinter Cell (the original one) and, man, was I addicted!

Resists the temptation to make it more than a display piece. Double-edged blades are a no-no is every jurisdiction.

They aren't explicitly outlawed in Canada, though you would be hard pressed to explain the utility use for it.

It looks like a Gerber Mark I. It's a shorter variation of the Mark II. I'll see if I can google up a pic.

The handles look a little different, but the blades look very similar.

oooh now that you've shown me that ebay link, I can actually see the markings are the same on Sam's knife.
thanks guys!
(and no, I'm not going to carry this around- I'm a balisong man)

i'm a big splinter cell fan (not the versus mode though) and i love this one because of the knife. if anybody wants to get some co op on Live in send me a request, my tag is *removeD*

Played the demo and it was great. I used the knife on a few baddies, even though I still had plenty of ammo.

The game is great, but the book is better.

Really? I read three pages and thought to myself, the only reason it got published was because Tom Clancy's name was on it...
