Anyone here have any experience with one? I plan on getting one in h1 after reading about edge retention in a serrated blade. Is there such thing as a fake assist in h1?

I have the assist in H1. It is a great knife for a dedicated rescue blade. I doubt anyone is faking that as it is not a wildly popular model and frn fakes are expensive to pull off.

I have the VG10 version with orange handle. Haven't used it much, just keep it in the car. I would be surprised if there were any fakes for what gringo said.

You didn't say whether or not it had the carbide glassbreaker on the butt end? You had to push the folded blade inward to get it to protrude from the butt end. I've owned two of them and both had the whistle and glassbreakers. Now I thought that was standard equipment on the ASSIST I model but I was told not long ago that there was an earlier version that didn't have either option. But again I've owned two of the black handled VG-10 versions and both had the glassbreakers and even a whistle on one for sure.

and by the way those ASSIST I glassbreakers did work well too.

What are you using it for? I am thinking about this one or another Sypdie Salt for carrying kayaking. I want an emergency knife for cutting rope, etc. Something I can clip on my life vest or carry on person. Of course it will get wet.

I'm using it around the farm to cut open hay bales, but where it really shines is in the small engine shop.

I can use the rope cutting feature on fuel line, and the carbide tip as a rough scribe
