Spyderco Cricket - Sheeple friendly? useful?

What are people's experiences with the Spyderco Cricket? I'd prefer info on the plain edge but anything will do.

IMHO, it's one of Spyderco's best knives. It's very innocuous, but the reverse-S blade cuts like a mofo. The oval handle is a lot more ergonomic than it looks at first, too.

I too prefer the plain edge, but I can see where the serrated one would be useful if your work required routine cutting of rope and such.

My favorite is the stainless steel version; it's thinner, and looks more like a shiny keyfob than the "tactcal" black zytel ones.

Do they make a fully serrated? I have only seen plain and combo edge.

I can agree with that. The zytel adds NOTHING to the cricket.

Quite sheeple friendly looking. I would rather get a Spin, but it is a bit more aggressive looking.

Sure looks that way! ;)

The Cricket is one of my very favorite small knives. Sharp as a razor, and the thin profile and light weight make you forget it's even in your pocket. (just over 1/4" thick and weighs less than 2 oz.) Very sheeple friendly knife.

Well, I've been trying to hold out, but I'm too freakin' anxious. My new SS Plainedge Cricket should be here tomorrow to take my spyderco cherry, and I can't wait! Stupid hicktown artsy colleges that close their mailrooms all weekend! Yes, I am aware that mail doesn't run on Sundays anyways, but shoudlnt they make an exception for knives?

Sweet choice. The Cricket is a fantastic knife. I carry one daily as a money clip. Serrated of course. :D

I had one, and I loved it. I ended up giving it to my sister, though. I think it is a much better knife than the Spin. I didn't care for the feel of the Spin at all and promptly sold it.

I love it but it's a bit tiny for when you need to open up fruit, though that's not part of the job description

I picked up my Cricket around 11, and I finally put it down long enough to post. I absolutely love it. Thanks to all who reccomended it. I'm well on my way to becoming a spyderco addict.

My Nav II just came in today. It's my 3rd Spyderco. The addiction just gets worse with time:D

My Cricket is awesome. I got it(the SS PE version) as a gift from my girlfriend. The S blade absolutely destroys those otherwise annoying blister packages that are so prevalent these days.

Just got a Cricket SS PE and It work great on everything I've tried to cut, especially to open boxes, letters, fruit, cut thick cardboard... It'll be for a while my EDC.

Works like a charm. Couldn't get any better than this. Nicked my fingers a couple of times just because I couldn't stop toying with it 24/7. If there was one thing more I would love to see added is some jimping (grip notches) on the thumb rest; and of course if possible, an even lighter package which won't bounce about with a subdued rich coat of non reflective matt black finishing.

Have any of you handled the Spin? I hear it is quite comfortable due to the wide handle.
I've got one up for trade. I liked it, but I prefer my Jester just because.. uh... it's not as "mean looking". Very secure in the hand, but my rather clumsy hands haven't figured out how to use frame-locks yet... especially small ones.

I'm betting the Cricket is better.

I may be asking too much, but you wouldn't happen to have a pic of the Jester and Spin together would you?
