The Spyderco Double Bevel is my easiest knife to open, by far. It flicks open beautifully with just a hint of wrist flip.

Some questions:

--did I just get a lucky one, is this typical of the knife?

--if typical, why is this so extraordinarily smooth?

--are there any other knives that use that same system, with similar results, that I should look at?

Definitely not unheard of. The pm2/para3 has some pretty amazing action imo. Many spyderco knives ive owned snap out with a spydie/thumb flick, no wrist action needed

The Double Bevel is a Terzuola design. It opens so well due to his chice of pivot design. His Spyderco Starmate also has slick action.

What kind of pivot action is this? How does it differ from the standard action?

I have the Starmate. I've never taken it apart, but the pivot appears to be a cylinder with washers.

Thanks. That helps. Do you know of any non-Spyderco knives with this? Maybe a Terzuola design for another maker?
