Spyderco Endura Vs. Spyderco Endela

Stretch, barring that, Endela. The Endura is very pocketable, but feels lanky in hand, proportionally off a bit for me, too much unused handle real estate for such a lightweight and slim knife.

Endela seems a bit more tough though a bit smaller .
Endura is a nice slicy blade, has a bit more flex.

One over the other ? I would go with endura in zdp189.

I pick the endela. I think the handle size is perfect. I know alot of folks prefer the stretch 2 but I can't get over the finger choil and blade shape. I like the handle and blade shape on the endela/endura. I've been debating whether to get a wharncliff endela also or an endura and keep going back to the endela. It's the same exact size as a pm 2 and between my pm2 and endela that size has been enough for everything for me for the last year. Not sure I'd want the extra enfura handle sticking out. The endela handle doesn't stick out behind my hand.

The real answer is the endela 5 with a ricaso the size of the leaf jumper and a blade that fills out the handle. Basically stick an endura blade in an endela handle with no ricasso. I think there's a daydreaming thread in the spyderco subforum I should go list my idea there while I'm dreaming.

I love 'em both, although my "Enduras" are a Pacific Salt (old-style blocky handle) and a Matriarch. The Endela really is like most of an Endura with less pronounced peaks on the handle. Both feel great in-hand (I wear a size L glove).

Importantly for me, both models have the perfect clip experience: The clip lands on the smooth pad and the pad is sized appropriately so your pocket edge doesn't bunch up on insertion/withdrawal.

They're both fantastic knives and there's no wrong choice here.

I seem to always go for the larger knife. Depends on your usage and likes.

If you are ok with combo blades, the thin blue line and red line knives are selling at good prices - around $70. VG10, which I am fine with for that knife.

The Police in K390 is what I choose. Scales dye easily if you don't like the goofy blue color. Black is easily achieved. For such a large knife, it carries very well.

If you're only getting one, Endela. Just a more Goldilocks size, and the finger ridges on the handle are a little more rounded/neutral than the Endura.

As others have said K390 is awesome if you don't need the corrosion resistance, and also check out the recently-discontinued K390 wharncliffes if you're into that blade shape.

The Stretch 2 may also be worth a look if you're considering Seki FRN Spydercos in this size range. Little different with the finger choil and wider handle. More of a straight edge near the choil with an upswept tip vs the continuous edge curve of the Delica/Endela/Endura.

I always feel the need to defend Seki City K390 when anyone mentions corrosion resistance. Mine has stained but with only the most minimal care I have had zero rust so far. I wipe it off on my pants leg at the end of the day free of any pocket sweat. I keep a cheap tooth brush I occasionally (when ever I remember) brush my non stainless blades I carry. And I just use cheap old 3in1.

Blood rusts it pretty quick (the orange stuff, not patina) in my experience carrying it hunting. Especially so if the field wipe-down is abbreviated because I don't want to dump my whole water bottle cleaning my knife when I've got more work/walking to do.

Regular day-to-day usage, yeah it's fine. Patina but not rust.

All depends on the size of your hand. I carried an Endura for many years, but now I carry a Police4, it's sort of an Endura 4 XL.

Try them all and carry the one you like best.

I have to agree the recommendations for the Stretch 2. And for me the Endela would slightly edge out the Endura, but you can't go wrong with any of those three.
