I have a trip to Colorado this summer, and I will be flying into Denver. I only have a few Spyderco knives, and none of them from Golden.

Has anyone been to this factory outlet store? Is it worth visiting? Thinking about getting a knife to remember my trip by.

Yup. It's worth it. Do it, even if you don't purchase anything, its still a good trip.

I think we all here can admit that if we go into a knife store with money in our pocket - especially one we may not get to go back to - that we will leave with SOMETHING!

I visited there this past summer. I was there for about an hour. I ended up getting a Persistence. A fine budget blade. The reason I didn't get anything more spendy has nothing to do with the store or its offerings.

I kept getting that raised eyebrow from SWMBO, who is not a knife nut, so I opted for a cheaper blade. We still had the rest of the country to travel across, you see.

Is it hands on? Would I get to handle a few options before buying?

also who is "SWMBO"?

SWMBO=She Who Must Be Obeyed

It's an acronym for "wife" used by heterosexual married or attached men without...

:)

You should be able to handle almost every model they currently carry. It is definitely worth the trip. I am local and stop in all the time. There is even a good chance you may meet one of the Glessers. ;)

I'm out on a road trip now, Just settled in at Dodge City Kansas. I should be in Golden on Wednesday or Thursday. I'm thinking of getting a Native while I'm there. I'll repost after the trip, I hope to hold a few of the models I've only seen pics of.

It's definitely worth the stop. I usually get out there once a year. They have some cool limited edition knives on display. The people are fun to talk to, and they also sharpen knives there. I have never done that, so not sure if there is a charge for it or not.

If you own a Spyderco, go you won't regret it.

Absolutely worth it. Prepare yourself mentally, it is a little overwhelming. No matter how many times I've been there I always get home and regret not handling more models. They take care of you though, usually they have a beverage of some sort you can help yourself to. Certain times (usually around the holidays) you will get a gift bag for every $100 you spend (mostly calendars, stickers, SPyderco USBs,etc).

I have been twice when business has taken me to golden very cool stop

...and how many purses and shoes does she have?
Sorry; got off subject.
:)
Would love to visit the store for their annual blemish sale. I'd be broke but happy.
