Thought this knife might be pretty good, I'm thinking of saving up for it.
Anyone have it? How dose it feel in hand? How much do you have to worry about rust on the CPM-M4 blade? And if you have this knife but don't like it, have any other recommendations for another spyderco around the same price?

Thanks for the help

I handled a GB2 when it first hit my local cutlery store, and I didn't care for it. Lost the robust and unique handling of the original (GB1). I'd much prefer a PM2 to the GB2.

I gave away my GB1, bought the GB2 and immediately regretted it. I had to go buy a LNIB GB1 off the exchange because they're getting a little hard to find.

Some people really love the GB2, you'll have to decide for yourself. If you don't already have a GB1, I think you're more prone to like the GB2. It really is a different knife and not a replacement.

As far as another Spyderco, yeah, the PM2 is a solid choice if you don't have one already. I don't have one but the Starmate looks kind of similar to the GB2.

This.

Both knives are exceptional, and exceptionally well made. However, I personally consider the GB2 to be much more of a gentleman's knife made of hard-work-capable materials. The GB1 is also a gorgeous knife, but (depending on which version of the GB1 you got), it was heavier. The GB2 is slimmer, and lighter.

Both knives have beautiful blades that take a screaming edge, and because they're M4, tend to keep it. I recommend getting them both, honestly.

Full disclosure: I owned a GB1 for a long time before selling it to a friend, and I purchased a GB2 when they came out and have been carrying it often. I love the GB2, and am now looking for a GB1 to complete the "set".

Running Bird........

FYI there is a Spyderco Forum under Manufactures you will receive many more suggestions/recommendations and thoughts on the knife
