I have had this one here a couple days now and plan to make headway on it before too long. I have the CQC13 ahead of it but this will be right after it is finished.

I did one of these a good while ago and I believe its posted by Deacon in the picture thread sticky if I recall correctly. I swore I'd never do another because this was very difficult to pull off and make clean looking by blending the finish and most of it had to be done by hand. Getting a motorized belt too close to the beautiful handle scales these knives usually sport can be a bad recipe so I'm sure this one will be a work out for the wrist and elbow as well.

Seen here is the before scan and a quick scan of the sheet sent with the knife by Deacon to remind me of what I did last time.

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Am assuming you got both the CQC13 and Kopa done since I just got a clik-n-ship notice from USPS saying something was on its way from you. :D Pleasant surprise, I'd anticipated a much longer wait. To say I'm looking forward to receiving it would be an understatement.

Sal Glesser has a real talent for coming up with great designs, then "fuglifying" them. Hiding the Kopa's scale behind a pocket clip, especially on the side which lefties like me I look at the most, ;) borders on criminal. Tractors may not have to look like Ferraris, but a PTO would look as out of place on the back of a Testa Rosa as a clip does on the Kopa. Thanks in advance Steve, for remedying that. :)

Yes sir I knocked it out and its in the mail. Unfortunately I did this before scanning any documentation of it so its going to be up to you to decide if you like or not. I'll leave any pics of it to you for this thread as well hows that?

Anyway, I think its pretty close to what I did last time. Truth be told I don't really recall exactly so it will be interesting to hear if it is or not. At certain angles you can still see the 'dimple' where the bolster drops a bit but at others you can't. It does kind of do this on the other side too though where the bolster is raised up toward the bone handle some. It was tricky to get this one done without marring up that beautiful bone. It looks like I did it though.

You are the final judge. Get it look it over and if you feel it needs additional tweaks to make you happy we'll go from there.
Thanks my friend.

Sounds good to me Steve. Have yet to be less that 100% pleased with anything you've worked on for me. Am sure this Kopa will be the same. Your memory of the Cocobolo one is correct, there's a bit of a "dimple" in the bolster, but it only shows at certain angles, and is a vast improvement over the "crater" which removing the clip leaves. Will get some photos up as soon as it arrives.

This one will see some serious pocket time. I can't thank you enough for this Steve. With the clip, that knife was cause for depression, without the clip, it's cause for joy.

I wish you were local. They always look so darn good when you take the pictures. I'd have you making some side money to take some shots of my work on other knives if you were close by but being that most of the work I do is on someone elses EDC knife I could not justify the delay or added expense to ship it out to you.

I'm glad you like it a lot. It sure looks good and I thank you for the pic.
