What do you guys think? My only reservation is the handle looks like it would be rough on the pants.

It is rough on the pants. The knife itself has a weirdly addicting blade. The geometry is great for a huge variety of EDC tasks, and the lockup makes it a very reliable knife. The clip is rather tough when new, but it breaks in decently with a little use. For a knife that was designed as a self-defense, fighting knife, it's one that has much broader applications.

I do know a few guys who took wet sandpaper to the G10 to pare back the edges a bit and make it a touch more friendly on the pockets.

Good thread

I, too, have wondered about this knife. Looks pretty cool, of course, but functionality, EDC use, etc. have made me question it. Curios to see what the masses think

I don't know if it's because I wear a lot of 5.11 pants but I don't find this knife to be bad on my pockets. I've removed the lanyard and I still have no issues drawing it from the pocket. I will also say that although it is heavy for its size, I don't find its weight to be an issue for me. I've really enjoyed this knife since I got it. It locks up like a vault, and disengages easily. I also like how the choil protects my thumb when I'm closing the knife so I don't get cut. I'd say it's worth it.

No pants problem for me either. I find the handle to be among the most ergonomic I've ever tried. Fit and finish are great. Very sharp out of the box and a very functional blade design. I absolutely love mine and am considering buying a second just to have a backup! Only other knives I have duplicates of are PM2 and Mili.

Like mentioned, it will take a toll on your pants.

I love how it feels in hand, though.
I removed the lanyard from mine as well.

I have a small gripe with how difficult it is to right-hand middle finger flick. The hole is obscured enough to prevent instinctual flicking. Thumb flick is good though.

As far as a user, it reminds me just a bit of a Yojimbo 2 in use. Just not quite as much cutting length. You can get a lot of controlled pressure directed right into the tip.

I may consider some smoother custom scales for mine, and see if anything can be done to open up the SpyderHole access on the right side.

I bought it and sold it a week later. As others have said, the fit and finish on the knife were perfect. However, I also found it too heavy and "chunky" for my use. It would not have made it into my EDC rotation.

I was very excited about getting mine, but as soon as I got it I started taking pictures to put it up for sale. The reason being that the pocket clip created a horrible hot-spot on my hand. Whoever designed it to swoop up so far in the shape of a spike must be a sadist (or maybe my hands are too sensitive)! ;)

However, I decided not to be hasty and decided to give it a chance because I liked just about everything else about it. I've been carrying/using/testing it every day for a while and I'm liking it more and more.

The clip still bothers me, but not as much as it did. I will probably modify it in the future, but I don't think I'll be getting rid of this little guy. Well worth $150 imo.

Edit to add:

It hasn't been too hard on my trousers. the scales have been flattened below the pocket clip, so extraction isn't difficult either.

The scales also don't feel uncomfortable in my hand with one exception: After slicing cardboard (like butter) for about 30 min, my second knuckle on my pinky started to feel a little uncomfortable....so not bad.

Your mileage may vary.

I love the shape and design but the scales do shred my pants. Sometimes when pulling it out of my jeans its tends to stick in there. Also, it is a bit heavy for an EDC i do feel it in the pocket. Maybe ill get some custom scales for it or smoothe them out. I don't mind the weight for casual wear.

I have the original and like it. Made a short vid a couple weeks ago.

ITs a great knife and unique looking. However its a little on the heavier side if you are someone who cares about that.
I carry a gun so the weight of my knives means little to me.

I love mine. The handle fits like it was made just for me...easily the most comfortable folder I own. I find the blade shape does a lot well.

It caught my eye when I first saw it in the 2015 catalog. The only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger is the black finish on the blade. I much prefer an uncoated one.

I had one for about two weeks but carried it only one day. Why? It was heavy and bulky as has already been stated. I stopped carrying it because it wouldn't stay put. The PPT was designed for IWB carry, which was how I carried it. On at least two occasions during the one day of carry the damn thing squirmed most the way out of my waistband. Thankfully I noticed it digging into me or I might have lost it before I could sell it. A nice idea, but it just didn't work for me.

For me the PPT has been a pleasant surprise. I did not expect to like it nearly as much as I do. I did not like how rough the edges of all of the handle contours were so I sanded them down with 2000 grit and now the edges of the contours are silky smooth. I like the weight of the handle, the deep carry clip and the low point on the blade. It's great when a knife exceeds expectations.

I find mine carries very well in pocket - I really do not notice the weight or bulk as much as everyone led me to believe (and it is even easier if you take the lanyard off). I never saw any reference to IWB carry, just discrete carry aided by the deep-carry clip. Not the same as IWB and personally I am not eager to carry any folder clipped IWB. YMMV.

I never saw reference to IWB either but it's too thick for IWB carry IMO. Also what would be the point of the deep carry clip? It rides well in the front pocket. I find that my stainless Delica carries IWB more comfortably than any other folder I own.
