Hi guys, long time lurker 1st time poster. I aready have the police g-10 and i tend not to carry it because i baby more expensive knives. I plan on buying the persitence as it seems similar to me in weight and size and both have g10 - obviously locks and steel are different, but besides that it seems extremely comparable with a large price difference for a purely defensive use which is the role I want it for. What do you guys think, will I be disapointed? I have the tenacious which I do like, however I find it heavy for its size compared to my usual edc the Endura.

I say carry the Police. That's what you bought it for right? Spend your extra dough on a knife that serves a different purpose.
Nothing wrong with the Resilience but I'll take the Police every time.

A fellow LEO showed me his new Resilience the other day. Nice and light but clip screws were loose and were stripped so they couldn't be tightened. Never seen a Police model that poorly QC'd.

Carry the Police for defensive purposes, and beat the hell out of your Tenacious for the everyday stuff.

your g10 police is as good as it gets in my opinion, the resilience is a step down. personally i like backlocks much more than liner locks. also the police is slim and easy to carry and use for such a large knife. if anything take a look at the spydero military or manix xl.

also i prefer the endura over the resilience or tenacious. my basic fully serrated endura is one of my all time favorites.

It is heavy and linerlock won't stand much abuse, but for kitchen prep and general duties the Resilience is excellent.

many forumites here use it as a folding cooking knife, slices like the dickens and sharpens easily

I'm gonna be the weird one to say that I actually prefer the Resilience over the military or the police models... but that's largely based on the liner lock and its ease of one hand opening and closing making it a much friendlier EDC in my opinion.... IF the military came with the steel liners, or IF the Police was available with a liner lock, I'd probably swing a different way.... but I've bought and tried em all and the Resilience just feels " right " to me

And I don't use it for anything for the difference in steels to amount to much.....just EDC stuff

Look at the cold steel Hold Out series for an alternative.

This does look like a pretty good option. I collect spydercos so that's why when I have a little more of the higher end ones I try not to really used them much. I have no problem on beating up on cold steels though. I screwed up my police stainless from carrying in with my keys when im in suits. That was my goto professional looking knife. That's why I wanna baby the g10 police even though I know the g10 won't scratch like the stainless.

Not just a good alternative, but the best alternative IMO

Slim, neutral handle, toughest lock, coating won't go away. Really tough and grippy G10

Slicey, stabbier than the police, smooth as a baby's ass, serrated or plain options as well

For the same price or less, a smoking deal! And not that I don't love my Spydies
