Does the Cruwear perform better than s30v ,both from Spyderco. Is Cruwear worth the extra price.(have a chance to get manix2 in both steels tomorrow).

Basically you exchange a bit of wear resistance and stainless property to get toughness and better grindability.
This could be a good thing if you wail hard on your blades and like patina.
Cruwear also tends to keep a finer edge a bit longer than s30v.
Given the ubiquity of s30v and desirable traits of cruwear, if the price difference isnt too steep i would go cruwear in a heartbeat.

I haven't used Cruwear, but I'm rather disappointed in S30V. I won't buy that steel again if I can help it.

Brian.

Same here, i just dont feel it worthy of the hype, it loses a razor edge faster than any steel i have ever tried and the working edge just feel dull for my uses even if it still cuts fibrous stuff with relative ease, i'm much better served with VG10.
