Spyderco Sharpmaker: Video questions in the UK

Just recieved my Sharpmaker from Heinnie Haynes to replace my basic lansky, and having already put a reasonable edge on a cheap kitchen knife I'm fairly happy.

Unfortunatley the video (I'm assuming its NTSC) included as part of the package will not play on my PAL TV / Video (not sure which is responsible for the decoding), and while not a major problem I really would have liked to know I was getting the most out of my sharpmaker.

My question is mainly towards UK forumites, though anyone who can help, please do comment;
Are the videos availiible in PAL format?

I realise I could probably have it converted, but would rather avoid the additional expence if possible.

Thanks inadvance for any help

I know this is off-topic, but how exactly does one 'give Spyderco a call' from the UK? Do they have a UK wing?

It's just that I'd like to get in touch with them myself. :)

Personally I was just planning to ring them internationally.

Been doing alot of international calling of late, for example you'd be suprised how cheap calls to the states are .....

On thing I did note was that the kit was stamped by 'edgar brothers', not a big suprise given they seem to import most knife and firearm related kit into the uk.

Mindz,

Since Spyderco sells Sharpmakers worldwide, they are available in a VHS, PAL or SEACAM format. Check your email Mindz. We'll fix it right up!

Wouldn't it be more universal to produce it in a VideoCD format?. It is more compact and can be run in a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM which most of us have or a DVD/VCD player which is becoming the norm nowadays. The plus factor is that the media is more durable than magnetic tape.

Aye amazing !!!!!

The tape arrived this morning in England !!!
I've had parcels coming locally take longer than this !!

Two big thumbs up for Sypderco's customer service :)
