Does anyone know if Spyderco plans to revamp the Street Beat in the near future? I have my VG-10 and it’s my favorite IWB carry blade. Immediate access for strong or weak hand when carried canted, at 2pm.

I would guess there should be more demand for these following the burgeoning SD firearm sales of late. People apparently want their self defense tools.

Sal, if you’re listening, I’m curious if this blade was ever a large seller? Enough to consider a making a relaunch of the same or similar knife?

The Street Beat Lightweight is still in production. Lesser materials and finish IMO, but functionally the same knife.

I'd love a re-release of the micarta, maybe even the satin Street Bowie as well. And my hopes are reasonably high considering they just did a sprint of another Perrin design, the PPT.

I wish I had gotten another micarta one back when they were readily available and reasonably priced. I'd love to see a re-issue, perhaps with the same micarta or even with G-10 or carbon fibre (just to be different), uncoated, and in LC200N. Like the SWICKs, I see the Street Beat as an every-day, all-weather, all-year-'round carry knife (utility or "otherwise"), and I think it would benefit with a truly rust-free blade.

While I'm not a fan of the pattern, though I'm sure it is great for those who are, LC200n makes perfect sense for a fixed blade meant for concealed carry. Nearly impervious to sweat and in my experience performs better as a cutlery steel than VG-10.

This is high on my list of "Spyderco will probably never do a sprint of this, but if I were independently wealthy, I would order a dealer exclusive in Elmax and polished green linen micarta over red liners just so I could have one."

I need to get a sheath made for mine. The factory sheath isn't quite as tight as I prefer. I picked up the micarta version when it was discontinued and I wish I had grabbed a spare.

I hope they do; I slept on the Micarta version and regret it.

I've suggested that it would make a good exclusive for someone like Blade HQ do do in M4/Ghost jade or DLT to do in M390 and Red G10.
The Micarta version of the STREETBEAT was the one I really liked. I didn't care much at all for those StreeTBEAT models with the lightweight handles. I prefer a rigid handle.

I've also wondered at times what a full serrated STREETBEAT. But with all that said maybe it's high time for a new smaller fixed blade to be in Spyderco's main line up.

The Spyderco ARK is pretty much the same handle design as the street beat and comes in a serrated version (the main drawback of the comparison is the ARK is a good 2 inches shorter OAL). But Fred Perrin seems to favor plain edge in his designs as is.

I was just thinking that a skeletonized version would be pretty awesome, with optional bolt-on scales.
