I got some Swick sheaths in the mail today so I thought I'd share some pictures with the forum.
These were done by Scott Mitchell (steelnut). I had met him at the Northeast Ohio Busse gatherings and have used a kydex sheath of his for my Scrapyard Mudpuppy and have been very pleased. A few days after posting on here for who to go to for a Swick sheath, I went to the Busse Chop-In (VERY fun!) and talked to Scott about a Swick sheath. I told him I'd like something to carry at 1 o' clock, and chose OD green for the color to have something other than the regular black. He also included a neck sheath for free, which was very nice of him. It's in orange, which will work well for hiking / camping when I'll have larger knives on my belt, or if I feel like carrying the Swick in my pocket.
The sheaths are both very nice. The OD green one, to my request, was made so the hole is exposed, which makes drawing the knife very intuitive. Since getting the sheaths in the mail I've been wearing the Swick in the OD green sheath. It's extremely comfortable compared to trying to edc a larger fixed blade like my Mud Puppy. I don't feel it at all when jumping, running, bending over to pick something up etc.
Looks like I've found me a fixed blade EDC. The small wharncliffe S30V blade will be wonderful for utility cutting. I've already used the knife for a variety of asks and I'm very pleased with how it handles. As expected, the ergonomics are great, and the index finger hole makes grip retention better than any other knife I carry. The factory geometry is very good too, with a precise point and full flat grind for efficient cutting. I'll thin out the edge bevel eventually, but the knife cuts well enough right now that I don't feel pressed to do so.
I'll write up a full review of the Swick and sheaths over the next few weeks.
