Who made the steel?
Spyderco or Lionsteel?
Lionsteel has produced some pretty bad batches of M390, testing s low as 55-56 HRC.
This has kept me from this knife as well.

A lot of that was debunked and some apologies issued.
Lionsteel quotes their current M390 at 60-61 HRC
Can you tell if it has PB washers?Spyderco and Lion Steel really hit a home run with the SpyOpera!
I was surprised by how polished its micarta scales are and delighted by how buttery smooth it opens.

Sorry, I cannot without disassembling it.Can you tell if it has PB washers?
There's tons of posts/threads here on the forum. Probably about a year back.
Bunch of YouTube vids as well.
Some folks descended on BF decrying lionSTEEL and CollectorKnives. Huge dust up that I admittedly got somewhat pulled into at first. But it fizzled out and those folks disappeared. One posted an apology video. Another just posted a video denouncing all BF members.
I now own a lionSTEEL knife in M390 and will own more. Mine is a stated 59-61HRC.
Now, folks can debate if that is sufficient hardness for this steel but it's good enough for me and after watching that entire sad saga, I have no concerns over the HT validity.
That would explain why it opens so smoothly.Ball bearings.
