Really? Yes. I need a good reliable squirt pistol. I use it to chase birds away from my front porch at night. They roost on the flat trim on the posts that support the roof and make a huge mess. I have tried spike strips and other stuff to make it uncomfortable. They just work around anything I out up there.

I have a cheap water pistol, but it is unreliable.

You're going to get plenty of recommendations for Super Soakers. That's because they have the majority of the market, and honestly, they work. My personal recommendation and favorite is a model called the Flash Flood. It has two shooting modes: the regular high pressure stream, and the "flash flood" burst. Basically, you're emptying about 1/3 of the water reserve...all in one big shot. Here is the flash flood burst in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdOT3IEloew (semi-NSFW due to one swear word if it matters).

I've used this gun to mess with my own dogs. If hitting a bird with this doesn't bring a smile to your face, nothing will :D

I recommend the Super Soaker CPS 2000 if you can find it. I shot it at a few birds that always tried to sleep on my balcony. I got two of them good, they never came back:grumpy:. I know it is cruel, but man is it fun in an evil kind of way. (no birds died in the testing of this super soaker)

How about a water charged fire extinguisher? I have one that has a bicycle tire valve setup to pressurize it. The 'green' zone on the pressure guage is ~ 120 psi. Years ago the company I worked for had a summer BBQ lunch and BYOSG (bring your own squirt gun) water fight. The fire extinguisher worked better than the super soakers.

Have you thought about using a low powered sling shot and some of the plastic ammo? As kids, we used to shoot at birds with sling shots using what ever little berries we could find growing at the time or sometimes we got these soft vinyl pellets from a toy gun, but those we had to buy. We only had access to rubber bands at that point in our lives, so the if you actually hit the bird, it would ruffle some feathers and take off.

Round-Up home/garden sprayer from home depot or lowes, they cost about $15 and come with fan/mist/jet spray heads. I use one around the house to spray pesticides, it holds 1 gallon and with the jet head on it will spray about 30 feet or so. It's also much more durable than a super soaker or similar water gun.
