Stansport axes?

I think I have both the non-wood ones. The red one I got at a flea market years ago and I'm not sure where it is. THe rubber on steel I got at an estate sale for a dollar and it's on the workbench. The edge bevel is awfully blunt and the steel is very hard. I haven't found it very responsive to filing. If you could get an edge on either one, by file or by stone, it would probably be servicable.

They say they search the globe for products, some of their stuff is made in China, the price would suggest offshore manufacture.

I've seen their line of sporting goods in local stores. Camp cookware seems to be their focus. I'm sure they're not manufacturing axes. From what I've seen their stuff was perfectly usable.

I had a couple from scouting, thick edges (probably 1/8thick edge, like what should be the sharp part, I'd recommend a low grit grinder to take enough steel off to get it sharp)

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking of getting the wood-handled forest axe for camping this summer. Would it compare favorably to Bahco products? I have a 10' mill bastard file, would that be enough to reprofile a blade on one of these axes?
