I have a ti pocket clip and ring that I wanted to try stonewashing, was just curious about what would be the easiest way to do it, does starting with a polished finish make it more difficult? and what would be a good medium to use? I've done acid stonewashed blades before but never titanium. Thanks for any advice!

sandblast it first w/ a fine-ish blast media, then that gives you a nice even surface to work off of. it does make it more difficult if the Ti is polished. Then simply put some rocks/ceramic triangles (from harbor freight) in a container and shake it for a bit, or you can use a vibratory tumbler. Hope this helps!

So I can literally stonewash my spyderco military titanium scales just by using a cup or Tupperware container? What exactly would I need from harbor freight?

I'd prefer the first one.
However if you just want to try it first you could use a bottle filled with the medium inside your laundry.

I ended up just picking up the tumbler, rotary drum. And ceramic triangles to try for my first time. The other thing I'm curious about is can I throw both titanium military scales in or would that make them hit each other or is it better to do one at a time?

If it's a bunch of small items I'd tumble them together. Scales definitely separate.
I bet you'll have lots of fun tumbling all kinds of stuff :-)

Already had some fun! Picture quality isn't great but they look damn near perfect in person.. No different than the stonewashed titanium I have on other knives

Would stonewashing titanium scales remove or undo anodizing? That it without abrasive blasting it first
