My frind had his in his sheath a while now (least a year). His is just fine, yours should be too.

Mine has been sitting in its sheath a long time with no problems. I have never used it and the edge has stayed razor sharp with storage unlike some of my non-stainless knives. The 440A does seem very corrosion resistant and it is coated to boot.

The thing you have to remember about storing a knife in a Kydex sheath is that while the sheath material itself is impervious to water, you can still get moisture on the surface of the sheath on the inside, and that will act on the knife just like it would if the same occurred in a leather sheath. So, you can store it in a Kydex sheath with no worries assuming the inside of the sheath is dry and you are storing it in a place that does not undergo rapid temperature changes. If those conditions are met, like Normark said, no problem! For what it's worth, I have several knives from custom makers with leather sheaths and I store all of them (all are A-2 or D-2) in their sheaths with no adverse effects whatsoever.

Hi Guys...

As long as the blade isn't sweating from hot to cold,, Concealex/Kydex won't hold water or moisture. You don't have a sealed compartment, and evaporation shouldn't be a problem.

As with anything that sweats from being brought into the warm from the cold,,it should be brought to room temperature, then wiped down.

I wash All of my sheaths out before they are sent to customers,,have never had a problem with water remaining in them the next day..

Thanks all for the input.
I'll give it a wipe with Tuf-Cloth and slip it into the sheath.
