Alright guys, selling an important one tonight:
I bought this knife from another forum member quite a few months back. This is the Blue Line Gear Exclusive and features a carbidized lock face and blued titanium and cerakoted (blue again) blade. Since that time it has been my dedicated work knife. Also since it's occupation as my work knife began, it has slowly taken on some lock rock. More on this later.
*THIS SECTION MUST BE READ PRIOR TO PURCHASE* When I bought the knife the gentleman sold it to me as is because it had a sticky lock. Oh boy was it sticky. Sometimes it would take two hands or pulling the blade back to relieve pressure off the lock bar to get it to shut. I took some fine grit sand paper to the lock bar/tang (to remove some of the coating), powdered it with some graphite, and the issue was gone! The knife performed well for quite some time and there were zero issues. Over time, and coupled with actually being used/opened/closed on a daily basis, the blade tang began to "tink-tink" on the lock bar. This never went away. In fact I think it progressed--to this day it still has lock rock. In a tight grip though, when my hand pushes against the lock bar, the knife is solid and doesn't rock.
I have tried contacting Strider about this but I have never seen a reply so I'm not sure where they would stand on the issue. I decided to do some soft mods to the knife as I never planned on selling it given the problem. First I dyed the OD green scale to a nice deep, deep blue; basically black. The dye job is consistent throughout the entire G10 scale and looks amazing. I also polished all internals. This includes the washers and the pivot. Smooth as Beyonce's butt now. I also added a Pete Gray copper LBS and a cerakoted deep carry clip. Both of these cost over $60 together and are included. (I cannot find the stock LBS or clip..if I find it I'll mail it to the buyer) The original owner also gave me a leather sheath for the knife which will be included as well. Some of the coating is coming off around the spine, tip of the blade and at spots around the titanium. This is a used knife for sure, but I gave it love too. Just didn't work out in the end I guess.**
*Sharpened by previous owner.
*For the condition of the knife, and with the best steel Strider has ever used on a production SnG paired with the aftermarket accessories, I am asking $199. This price includes PayPal fees and shipping. If you want insurance that will be extra.
*It's very important that you understand the condition of the knife prior to committing to buy it. After I receive the funds, consider the deal sealed.
Please ask any questions you may have.
