Strider Tanto Edge Improvement

I have a Strider HT-T, the small/medium sized fixed blade with a tanto styled blade. The main portion of the blade is quite sharp and cuts well enough, but the tip portion barely has an edge, it's almost blunt. I want to put a different edge on the knife so that it cuts better. I don't have very high expectations, but the knife as it is is a very poor cutter.

I've seen pictures, here, by Kwakster of the awesome job he did reprofiling his Strider DB. I believe that he used a combination of an electric grinder and a Wicked Edge. I have a Wicked Edge sharpening system with diamond/stones from 50 to 1000 grit, what would you guys recommend that I do? The HT-T currently works fine for opening crates and heavy duty packaging, and has done well with zero damage to the [non-existent] edge.

I understand that these knives are designed, literally, as sharpened prybars, I'm just trying to see what the design is capable of when some attention is invested in the cutting edge.

Well it depends on how aggressive you want to get with it, you could do something like the first pics below, but personally I like to match the existing angle and enhance it a bit and zero grind it.

That Strider DB was done with a Tormek T7 wet grinder and a Wicked Edge:

Some time ago i did this user Strider HT-T with only the Tormek T7:

As you can see the slanted edge on this knife is also zero ground, something worth considering as it really improves it's usefulness as a knife.
It can be done with a Wicked Edge, but it will take a lot of time as you will have to remove quite a lot of steel.

Great job!

With the zero grind edges, have you guys had any issues with edge damage? I've had Strider's S30V at 40, 45 and 50 degrees, and it cut well enough without any damage, and the edge holding was incredible.

I really just want to get this knife to a state where it can cut. My experience has been that the more I mess with an edge, the more chances there are for me to mess something up, so I usually re-profile just as much as I have to.

What would you guys recommend that I do, to put a decent cutting edge on the tanto portion? I'm thinking to just sharpen it loldown to 25 degrees per side (50 inclusive) and it should at least cut, while still being strong enough not to undo the purpose of the knife.

I had my SnG's point zeroed by Nick Rossi. I love it but I would not do it again as Strider, as mentioned, makes their tanto point like it is on purpose.
