So excited to use my brand new PM2 Crucarta, I went to swap the pocket clip (with my Wiha bits, on a well lit surface) and one of the pocket clip screws stripped just being screed into the new hole. Should I bother dealing with Spyderco (the actin and centering and grind are all perfect, I’d rather not send the whole thing in if I don’t have to…) do you have experience with the knivesplus.com replacement screw kits and are they worth the $20? Any suggestions appreciated and thanks.

I have ordered a Spyderco screw kit from knivesplus and I was very pleased with the quality.
"Worth it"? It was for me. The price is somewhat high if all you need is a single screw, BUT you'll have plenty of spares so over time it may very well be worth it for you.

Did you "strip" the threads, which is the normal meaning for "stripping a screw",,,,, or the T6 socket ?

Regards,
FK

Spyderco has sent me a few sets of clips screws direct after I lost them. Check to make sure your clip isn't moving every once in a while!

The problem crop up with CQI knives and not seeing what someone has to verify fit. On a really new and current version like that one though it shouldn't be a concern. I'd email or phone that request in to them.

Spyderco has sent replacement clip screws, clips and body screws to me, halfway around the world, on many occasions over the years. Even for long discontinued models. Email Charlynn at customerservice@spyderco.com

Buy some Wiha or Wera bits. No one needs to deal with stripped screws.

Thanks all, I only use Wiha bits. The screw stripped out (the threads not the head) as I was swapping the clip. I called Spyderco and spoke to a very nice dude who said they will send me out a set. Very cool. I also ordered a set from knivesplus as I’m about to do a scale swap and figured I’d try them out, too. I’ll report back. Thanks for your ideas.
