I carry more than 1 EDC, as I'm sure many do, I also carry 2 Tacticals as SD/Utility knives, the knives I carry on my strong, and weaksides are oriented so that they expedite one handed opening from their respective carry positions.

Now one of the knives I carry is a BM AFCK, this model was available in a south paw version, I'm considering buying one to match with my right handed version.

I love my BM and it's one of the quickest opening knives I own, why wouldn't I want matching knives?

I was wondering how many of you folks carry matched/complimetary knives and rigs, and what you carry?

Wasn't to long ago, it wasn't unusual to see cowboys carrying matching pearl handled 45's, what's so different with knives?

I don't carry knives for self defense, so my needs might be a bit different from yours. My goal is always to cover as many uses as possible, with as little redundancy as possible. So, I try to pick knives that can do different tasks. For example, rather than choosing two knives with clip point blades, I might choose one with a spear point plain edge blade and one with a serrated sheepsfoot blade. Complementary, rather than duplicates, is what I like. If I carried knives for self defense, I would probably do the same as you.

I carry 2 sets of dual, and an IWB... soon to add a neck rig too(when it gets in next week).

I carry twin 4"(Military CE S60V[r/f] and FRN Endura SE ATS-55[l/f]), twin sheeple(Nav Meerkat PE 6A[l/r] and Alum Salsa CE 8A[r/r], and a "god damn thats sharp" Calypso jr lt VG-10 PE[IWB]...

The 4" are for work and general use
the smaller(2" and 2.5") are for use in large groups(who cares about malls and such)
the iwb 3" is for food.

I am ambi-dexterous, through mainly righty, and thus I use them all. Grab with right hand and cut with left no problems...

SD isn't a concern, nor a reason, for my carry. Though if the situation arose I'd be running until I couldn't anymore. Knives are a last resort for defense... [running]feet are first.
