I have both versions but sometimes I find the clip-on more handy. The wraparound is great when the sun is really scorching. It tends to have a cooling effect.

The wraparound is also useful for those wearing prescription glasses. It just covers the whole face including the glasses. That's where the clip-on is also handy.

For those with perfect vision, the various shades can be of any size and style.

I am actually referring to those who wear spectacles.

Which do you prefer?

I prefer sunglasses that are in actuality safety glasses.

I am now wearing a set of Uvex 2000 Patriot frames with mirrored lenses.

I think I paid 6 or 8 bucks for them, they are not quite as classy as Gargoyles, but with the coating and the mirrored effect, they are as close to 100% UV as you are going to get.

To boot, they'll stop a ricocheting .22 round, or a direct hit from a BB or pellet. I mostly worry about shards and fragments from shots on the range.

golok...don't tell me you go out using those things???

hahahha...they're like my lab goggles...hhahahha...i can't stop laughing...

anyway...get prescription sunglasses...polarised ones are nice...they really cut out the glare...

or maybe LASIK??? with all the money you've spent on knives i'm sure you can afford to pay for laser eye surgery...hehehe...

I just ordered a pair of polarised sunglasses...had to return it 'cos it was blurry for the right eye...so they're repairing it now...

Or maybe if you're got loads of cash...oakley prescriptions...they cost 300 pounds here in the UK...that's just too much for me...

Those wraparound glasses are a hazzard! I see old folks and not so old folks wearing them while driving and they can't see worth s#!t!

My wife has to wear glasses..she wears a pair of clip-ons that you pull apart and they spring back and grip the frame of your glasses...

They are no more wider than they have to be, they do not mess up her periferial(sp) vision, and they don't make her look like a reject from an old Buck Rogers movie...

id rather bear the son then wear those no offense dude...

you need to get some prescription style or transition lenses at the least

Golok, you just lost some "cool" points here. There's so many better options, and they're generally less bulky, although probably more expensive.

Perscription Oakleys, Serengettis or plenty of others would do a better job and provide you with better vision tha hanging those things over your glasses.

BTW: Tourist, Oakley makes plenty of (overpriced) glasses that will stop the same stuff as your safety glasses, but offer much better optics and comfort. I use the Uvex stuff in the shop, but it's not nearly as comfortable.

:D :D Contrary to popular belief, quite a number of people have asked me where I bought them. They think it's pretty cool. Not like that Matrix sun-shades, of course.

This pair is more like The Terminator! :D

The Terminator???

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH

Exterminator more like it...

i used shooting goggles for my lab goggles back in university
the standard issue ones would seriously irritate my ears and nose
they looked so much cooler too :)
i seriously thought about wearing them as sunglasses (with contacts, of course) but they make me look like an extra from a movie :D

I like clip-ons that are made to fit certain pairs of glasses and which come with the glasses. They have gone out of style and can be difficult to find.

I spent some cash on prescription lenses and Ray-Ban Wayfarer frames. Heavy bucks, but worth it. I like not squinting. I have enough wrinkles as is. Grin.

Jmxcpter,

Thanks for the heads up. However Oakleys are not in my financial picture, and there are more important toys to buy.

I find that Uvex design to be comfortable, and my wife wears the same type. I've worn some pretty uncomfortable stuff over the years when out riding, and the Uvex is a lot better. I guess it depends on your individual 'ear to nose' configuration. Besides, the side stems adjust on the Uvex type we wear.

For a couple of hundred bucks, I'd get a chrome googah for the Harley, not sunglasses.:D
