Sunlighter Solar Lighter

I have been a little video happy lately and made a couple more today. This one shows the Sunlighter, a solar lighter that focuses the sun's rays on a tinder or cigarette holder to light the tinder/cig pretty quickly. Char cloth goes up almost instantly and dryer lint isn't too shabby either. I'm not a smoker, but I hear these can light a cigarette in a couple of seconds. Probably not better to take than a firesteel if space and weight are a concern, but it sure is fun to play with on a sunny day.

very cool idea, i ahve never seen one of those before. It is similar to the fire-starting technique i have used with the bottom of a soft drink can. very cool :thumbup:

Yeah, it's the same thing, just a little more refined and effective.

Cats meow! Much better than mine. The holder in the middle is a great improvement over the forks on the sundance one as it can be a biatch to get it to stay put if its something messy like grass cuttings.

Yeah, this version is super easy to use. You just stick the tinder in the holder and you are all set. I've never had any problems with anything falling out.

You can also use round head light as a reflector but it wont be as nice as this one.

Very true! I've used a lot of different scrap items to do the same thing this does, but this one is MUCH easier to use.
