Super Glue vs Loc Tite for handle scales

Just got my first BK9 a few days ago.
I have heard stories of Becker scales coming loose after awhile and it's recommended to use Loc-Tite on the retaining bolts.
I have searched high and low and can't find my Loc-Tite, but have a brand new tube of Crazy Glue.
I know Crazy Glue dries a bit more brittle than Loc-Tite, but I don't think that would matter too much on a non-moving piece like a knife handle.
Anyone here ever gone down this road?
Should I just wait until I can get to the hardware store to buy more Loc-Tite?

Hardware store to buy more Loctite.

Try Shoe goo. It is available for a couple of bucks at Wal Mart and some shoe stores and is made to repair tennis shoes. A layer under scales seals them, provides vibration proofing and is waterproof. It also prevents the screws from working loose. Finally, when you want it off, it simply pulls off with a fair amount of pressure leaving no residue or damage. I use it under the scales of throwing knives all the time and never lose screws or have to tighten them. It also prevents that tinny sound they make when bouncing off a hard target so they just make a gentle thump if they don't stick. You can even use it to permanently attach para cord wraps and increase tackiness of grips to improve grip.

Good luck!

Second the waiting to get more loctite from the hardware store. Crazy glue and the like, in my opinion, doesn't come undone. And eventually you may want to change out the scales for something like micarta or custom wood.

This is one time that fingernail polish is your friend, it works great for this application and mounting scope bases on your rifle, been using it for years with great success !!!!

 I've used clear finger nail polish for years to seal nuts tight. A little fingernail polish remover loosens them right up if you need to remove them later. The only caveat here is that if used in conjunction with plastics, you need to use the non-acetone remover. It works slower in softening the polish up, but it doesn't melt some plastics like the acetone based remover does. It melts some plastics better than others and doesn't affect some plastics very much. As always, test on a non-important area or surface before trying either type of remover.

Get some nylock nuts

I am going to second (third) this. Especially with 1095 and the possibility of rust, some stainless hardware with nylock nuts make the scales easily removeable if the knife gets wet; and they hold great and look pretty snazzy, IMO. Plus, very cheap upgrade.

I use liquid rubber for mounting scopes to rifles.
