This is some beautiful, vintage “ripe banana” micarta.
This stuff is very old according to the older fella I purchased it from (who used some of it as a workbench topper and the rest sitting up against the wall in his barn for years).
He told me he had owned it for many years and before that it sat on a shelf in a warehouse at his former place of work for decades.
It has a darker color on the outside than on the inside.
I’m only letting a small amount of this go so once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Here are some pics of what it looks like on a magnificent razor created by Matthew Gregory.

It looks a little brighter before finishing.

I also have some natural canvas from the same guy. He said it was from the same timeframe. It mics at .275
It’s not as pretty as the ripe banana, but still good old stuff.

If I am not mistaken , that use to be used as dividers in high voltage electrical panels . Years ago I got some out of a 480 volt panel we stripped where I worked . Could be wrong though .
    Nice looking stuff Josh

Javan, I still haven’t used the rag micarta I got from you. Now THAT is some cool stuff. I’m almost afraid to use it for fear of making a mistake.
