Just purchased one of these guys. I have been looking for a good light and was willing to pay $100-150 for a good one and came across this. I found it for $54 shipped and thought heck why not.

My question is does anyone have experience with this flashlight? I found nothing but good reviews for it online.

I got the tactical instead of the pro because I have about 20 cheap little led lights that I can use as a 15 lumen beam. I wanted a light I can snap out and put a bright light out in a hurry. So I picked this one.

you can't go wrong with surefire G2 series lights. they are extremely tough (for plastic), bright, and overall functional on all general purpose levels. for 54 you won't be disappointed. is it LED, correct? you can't go wrong with that -- no bulb to burn out, high output, nice white light. the G2 and 6P series are great starters to use, or build onto (there are a plethora of aftermarket parts available).

you'll like it. if you don't use it every day, or EDC, you can still toss it in your car and always have an emergency light when you need it.

oh, and it floats.

i just got the pro version, and it is a great light. Ridiculously bright and feels very well made and sturdy. The dual output functioning isnt quite right, its hard to get the high setting to stay on sometimes, but you wont have to worry about that. It blows my streamlight away in terms of comfort and brightness, it really is an awesome light. I'm going surefire only from now on.

The reason the X series are cheaper is that:
- They utilise a polycarbonate rather than the usual Lexan or Pyrex
- The head is glued on on so less money spent on threading
- Not meant to withstand the recoil of a weapon.

Keep in mind that is introductory pricing, the G2X is up to $95 now, which sucks since you can get a 6PL for the same price with similar lumens and better materials.

I would look over the whole G2 line, especially the LED versions. I had an early G2L and it was a real winner, great light and battery life, and my LEO brother in law lost his 6P so he's got it now. :D

They have changed a bit and now use an aluminum bezel for heat diffusion. Check out each one for lumens and battery life, there is some variation.

For what you bought it for it rocks I have it as a weapon light on my AK and it lights up a room and also a backyard.

A friend of mine has one of these and its great. He said hes had it for a while and loves it

I have the 6PX and I'm pleased with it. Thats the same light but with alu body instead of resin, so the G2X should be similar

Its very bright, in typical surefire fashion its '200' lumens are more like 250 - 300 lumens from a chinese light.

The only downside I can see is the plastic front lens, i had an original 6P incandesent with the polycarbonate lens and that got scratched to pieces which affected the beam, so be careful what you put in your pocket with it.

Just got my g2x the other day and I love it. It replaces all of my current lights and it fits in my pocket. I'm glad I picked this up for $55. I would not hesitate to get another surefire.
