There was a survival book in the movie "The Edge" starring Anthony Hopkins. In that movie, Hopkins' character receives as a gift a survival book titled, "Lost In The Wilds," written by D. Croyle. I know that the book was most likely a prop, but it looked like a real survival book. By any chance is this book real and if so, where could I get a copy? Sorry in advance for sounding naive.

On the other hand, a David Croyle is a police officer and Certified Rescue Technicial who lives in the LA area. He could have advised on the movie and become the "D. Croyle" of the book.

One of the best survival experts has a school just a 1/2 hour from my house. Tom Brown, he wrote several books on survival, even a good guide for teaching children survival skills.
