British Survival Knife ($120): Shows signs of obvious use. No real clue on the history. How you see it is how it came to me.

That looks more like an M7 Bayonet for an M-16 than it does an M1 Bayo.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

They look similar, but that is not an M7. That looks like an M5 or M5A1 to me. It should be marked on the guard. This style was introduced at the end of the Korean war. They standardised on one sheath for multiple bayonets so the M7 would work in the same sheath.

A couple Google searches later and it appears you are correct, sir. Cool info, thanks.

Hi EDC, Jhansenak47 and seller Thegearlessmachine-

That was a nice selection of military combat knives, Gearless!

The bayonet you have offered in this thread is an M6 bayonet for the M14 Rifle. The M5/M5A1 bayonet for the M1 Garrand did not have a muzzle ring. The M5 series and the M6 were the only U.S. bayonets to have the type of locking lever as pictured here - on the bottom of the grip, right behind the crossguard. The M7 bayonet, for the M16 Rifle had the same blade but a different shaped grip and different butt - with locking levers on the butt.

That's why this place is great, some truly knowledgeable people to draw from. Lots of reading to do on this subject.
