This is extremely off topic, but I was curious what survival/wilderness movies that are out there that all you Beckerheads are in to. I have seen Into the Wild, as well as Never Cry Wolf. Any suggestions would be great

**This isn't including tv shows like Man v. Wild, Survivorman** :D

The Edge is one of my favorites. The pianist, is another. A movie from the 80s called Shoot to kill, is awesome.

The most recent movie that I've seen that deals with survival (or at least the will to live), was "127 Hours". I thought it was really well done.

Also, "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin, goes into a few basic survival techniques as well as some good old fashioned entertainment.

**Wildone39 beat me to it!! :D

Yes I recently saw "127 Hours". I thought it was really good. I may have to check out "The Edge"

Serendipity, The Notebook, How to lose a guy in 10 days....ooh shoot. This isn't your favorite sentimental movies? Must have misread the heading....

Seraphim Falls was pretty interesting. Saw it on AMC the other night. It kept me awake.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen was made into a crappy TV movie, I think. The story about a young boy who crash lands in the Canadian wilderness and uses little but his Hatchet to survive. Great book. I loved it as a kid. Reread it again a few months ago. Simple, but still good, light reading.

Let's also not forget Richard Proenneke's documentary, Alone in the Wilderness. The guy only survived in relative isolation for 30 years, but but he also built himself an amazing log cabin that I think any of us wouldn't not mind calling home.

Treasure Island (Christian Bale/Charlton Heston) or Robinson Crusoe . Can't really pick between them, so, there you go.

Sanctum is very good survival movie. Also, you may want to see Into Thin Air.

Your opinion..... still survived for over 3 months in the wild. How long have you done that?

I have no urge to go crazy, run into the woods and off myself, if that is what you are asking.

Every single person on earth who has not committed suicide is better at surviving than McCandless.
