Just finished watching all 10 episodes of Survival School in Hulu.com. I don't know if anyone has mention the series in the forum, but I've never heard of this reality show. The series follows 47 Airmen going through the Air Force's S.E.R.E. school, and I have to say it's a great show. The emphasis of the series isn't teaching survival skills, although those who already know the basics can catch some very good tips and ideas. The average individual watching it will get an appreciation for what it takes to survive in different environments, the importance of the proper tools (knife, multitool, axe, compass, firesteel, etc.), the value of practicing skills before you need them, and the impact of psychology in survival. I highly recommend the show. I think it would be specially beneficial for those who are learning or are interested in survival skills but don't have much experience or enough opportunities to practice them. The show allows you to see the practical application of the "theory" of several survival skills. I give it

 Thanks for posting. I was looking for something worthwhile to watch, instead of most of the crap that's on TV.

I'm lucky enough to have a SERE guy who I can talk to, this show should help me ask him some good questions, thanks for the link. I somehow missed it on Hulu.

Watching episode 1 right now. Excellent show. Interesting to see how the elements evolve through the process.

Glad you guys liked the show. I'm surprised no one had mentioned it here before since it's been out there since 08. I found it very entertaining and educational. Keep in mind that regular S.E.R.E. (Survival Evasion Resistance Escape) training is normally two to seven days long depending on the military branch. This show follow the 5 months training school for Air Force S.E.R.E specialist (instructor) certification. The main thing I liked about the show it's that it ignores the classroom theoretical stuff and concentrating on field training and exercises. In the words of the King, its "a little less conversation, and little more action, please".

Is there another site the show can be watched on? Hulu streams are only available in the US... Any idea?

Yep, and in another episode there is a fixed blade which probably is the Ontario Air Force Pilot survival knife although it could be a USMC Kabar. I'm assuming it's the Ontario simply because it makes better sense.
