Swing Guard Knives...

AG Russell sold some that were imported from Germany and made by Boker. They are excellent quality, and not too hard to find on the auction site.

Canal Street also made one years ago.

The rough rider is a nice little knife especially for $10 but its kind of small 2 1/2" blade 3 1'2" closed.

I was given a Case Cheetah. The swing guard was sorta uncomfortable in use, but it fell off in short order. The pin/rivet is not solid; it's a two piece tube press fit together.

The blade steel was also soft enough that I had to sharpen it at a steeper angle than I prefer, or it rolled badly.

Big river site has Marbles swing guards, some with blades longer than the handles (like some of the original Marbles had)
Not sure how comfortable they would be to use. The blade guard that comes into play so you don't slice/stab yourself when the knife is closed has a tab that looks like it is exactly where a finger would go when using the knife.

I've got one of the US made Marbles swing guards at home. I'll have to see how the blade guard sits in your hand when the knife is opened. I never did anything with the knife since I got it scaleless.

It's a cool looking design either way and I believe Queen was making them for Marbles around the time mine is stamped (2003ish).

The last time I was on kabars.website they had some Dogs Head swing guards on sale.

The Puma Medici is a nice swing guard knife, especially the vintage ones. Some of the stag on those is real pretty.

I was just about to post the exact same thing. The older Pumas, 1990s or so, are really some nice knives. The swing guard from that era, especially in stag, is a really handsome knife.
