This is a Swiss proofed, fully German made Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm. It features no German Export stamps but bears the German Nitro proof mark along with the Swiss "BP" proof on the barrel. There are no other proofs or export/import marks on this gun of any kind. The serial number is on the slide, frame, and barrel, what's referred to as a "triple serial stamp". This gun was bought by a US service member while he was stationed in Europe and brought here through fully legal means while he was still active duty, I purchased it directly from him. I have never seen a 226 marked "Germany" on the slide. Also adding to the rarity it is sans German export marks, and is two-tone. The only other Swiss proofed 226's I have ever seen were beat up police pistols and not two-tone. The also ALL have some importer name engraved on them. I truly think this is a rare Sig pistol. The single-action trigger is unbelievably crisp and breaks like a carrot. From a look under the grips it is completely stock with factory parts. Even the grip screws are timed! The rear sight Tritium is long dead but the front sight was replaced with a modern Sig Tritium sight at some point.
