I've used this term in jest in the past. But I never knew till now that there is such a serious offering out there.
I suppose when your back is to the door while chopping the carrots and celery, and your razor sharp sense tells
you that a hired ninja team has infiltrated your living room, you can hit the lights and count on your Tactical Nakiri
to take them out.

"Tactical Kitchen Knives, Set of 3, Carbon Fiber Handles, PVD Black Blades. $925 for the set."
from Hoback Knives.

I believe the Daniel Searles Bowie knives qualified as tactical kitchen cutlery LONG before any of us coined the term.

I recommend an 8-10" chef's knife for home defense whenever the subject comes up. A cardboard and duct-tape sheath and you're good to go...

Trace Rinaldi made the TTKK back in the day, the Talmadge Tactical Kitchen Knife.... a collab with Joe Talmadge.

At the time they were available, I wasn't in a position to burn the income on the piece.

Now that they are not available, I don't know that I want to burn the asking price for one. They come up now and then, I'd still love to have one.

I assure you that my 8" chef's knife looks more intimidating and tactical than any folder that I own.

Tactical any knives........LOL
Yeah, unfortunately the term has become completely tainted and diluted, I get if one is using a knife for an actual tactic, but the term is synonymous with all kinds of BS last night lately, lol no idea why I wrote last night.

I dig the Dessert Warrior SAK and Kalash Boker, and the Dessert Warrior Tactical Spork from KA-BAR is funny too.
I don't think Hoback was trying to be funny here.

This Hoback must be quite a character to get a kitchen knife thread and an 80 page meltdown on the same day.
