Takeshi Saji - what do you all think of this maker

He is a Japanese maker - and his knives look great.

Anybody have any knowledge of Saji-san?

I think he makes great knives. Not only are his 'standard' knives well made with screaming sharp edges, but he custom made me two kitchen knives, from drawing, and they are both great knives with incredibly well made 'san mai' (layered) blades. Here are some pics...

This slicer is screaming sharp!

Gotta love a stag handled chef knife!

I highly recommend Takeshi Saji's knives, and if you're working with The Edge to acquire them they are great people!

you can buy some of his knives at japaneseknifedirect.com and email them to do a custom order....the guy who runs it is named koki and he is great to work with....if you google takeshi saji's nam you can find lots of pictures on japanese sites ....i jst emailed koki with a picture and he gave me a price...it's as easy as that...what would we do without the internet.....if you get one let me know.....i've always wondered about the quality of his hunting knives....they look wicked.....ryan

yes, sorry I didn't see your post earlier mountainguy2. I ordered my through Jemmy through the same site (Koki is his daughter I think). other sites are ohyasuya.co.jp or .com.

I'm expecting mine next month or so and will post pics /reviews when I get mine.
