Tampa Fl. knife shops

Unless they've added something since I moved, there ain't much there in the way of cutlery shops.
There used to be a Remington's in Tampa Bay Center but that whole mall is now defunct. That's kind of a surprise since it's a block away from Raymond James Stadium.
Out at University Square Mall there is a knife shop with all the mall prices to boot. :barf:

When I go to visit the sis-in-laws, I'll still search and since I was there last month there are still no dedicated B&M knife shops there. :(

Even my main gun store, Sonny's Gun Shop, has closed it's doors which is very sad to me cuz I've gotten some great guns from there. :( Sux big time because that place has been there for a long time.

There are MANY pawn shops but only a handful have knives worth looking at and they all seem to think they can get top dollar for what is mostly crap.

I was born and raised in Tampa and called it home for 29 years but unfortunately, to me, it's a cutlery wasteland.

Even sadder, it looks to me that Tampa is turning decidedly liberal. :barf:
Even my sister-in-law who knows me, knows I make knives, even has one of my pieces, actually questioned my "need" to carry my small fixed blade there. :barf:
Tampa is the place I go now if I want to educate people on the knife as a tool.

I apologize for the grim news and am sincerely hoping someone can step in and give you better direction.

I'm a ways from tampa, but check out bill jackson in st. pete-on us 19.

Sullivan's Holster Shop, the sheathmakers for Randall may occasionally have Randall knives for sale. This I got from a third party source twice removed.

If you go up I-4 to Lakeland, there's a little knife shop called "the knife place". A very nice gentleman runs the store and has a pretty good selection of knives. He's open 10-6 only on thurs., fri., and sat. Bill jackson in St.Pete has a fair selection, but everything is MSRP :grumpy: Andy thornal in Winter Haven has a great selection, and they are a Randall dealer as well as Gransfors bruks axes. That's about all I know of in this area....hope that helps...jim

Tidefan, I'm going to Lakeland in April to visit my dad and I'd like to check out "the knife place". Could you provide a exact address for me, I'd appreciate it.

I've not lived in tampa/st pete for 3 or 4 years now, but check out the army navy shop on bearss ave, and there is one on I think 66th st, off tyrone blvd in st pete. don't quote me on that one though, like I said, its been a long time

Yeah, it's on 66th st, and 70th? ave. Last I checked, they had a few striders, but mostly crkts, and not much else.

but check out the army navy shop on bearss ave,

Their prices are rather steep IIRC and they have lots of POS Chinese crap last time I was there. It is an interesting place though with lots of military memorabilia. Also, they have some high dollar military/SWAT boots and other LE type footware.

I didn't feel they were worthy of mention due to their somewhat limited selection. I never saw Striders last time I was there however. I'll have to giv'em another look-see next time I'm there. Thanks for mentioning them.

The Knife Place is in Lakeland, 3025 Knight's Station Rd. I'll gat back with phone # asap...Jim
