6 month's ago i started to study traditional Ainu swords and knives, i have been working and forging some things meanwhile, here some of my work hope you like it, W.I.P. cheers Igor.

I really enjoy your interpretation of the style. The knife in the third pic, what's the overall length?
 
Hey Storm,
You have to surch hard on the internet to find any good info,…the best info i got is from some museums and archeological swords they found and of course some pictures of found swords thru out in Japan.
After so many years being in they soil they are pretty well rusted so it's hard to determine how they exactly look, shape, materials etc.
Also a lot of info is false and people seem to write copy paste everything what they read en see on the internet so also very unreliable.
And there are many theories and not a whole lot of proof according to where the sword origins came from (material, steel and smithing techniques from Korea and Russia while the Ainu/Emishi whas traveling and trading around).
There are some interesting documents you can google and are easily to be found: Examining the origins of Soshu-Den and the Origins of Nihon To from Carlo Giuseppe Tachini;)
