I'm planning on getting a tattoo of Benchmades logo and was wondering if they have used any other logo's on their knives through out the years besides the current Butterfly and the butterfly with the antennae. I'm thinking about using the logo that's on their balisongs but have is say Benchmade instead of bali. Also would like to hear what you think would be a cool design. At the moment probably just going to do something very cliched like have the logo in a spiderweb or something. Any idea's or any logo's you"ve seen on their blades that are different than than current models or maybe some kind of advertizement logo you've seen that caught your eye please post idea's or post a picture of blade or ad logo even better.Thanks.

I honestly think any kind of corporate logo for a tattoo is a bad idea. Not just because you make yourself a walking billboard, but the fact that logos are usually simplistic and a tattoo should be a work of art.

IMO maybe something slightly more subtle expressing your passion for Benchmade and knives. Such as a theme that maybe includes a knife with a butterfly resembling the Benchmade logo sitting on the blade somewhere, maybe even a spider at the handle if you're a Spyderco fan, etc... But not just a company logo. Just my 2 cents.

I was also thinking about having a catapillar smoking a hookah with a bali and blowing out smoke and in the smoke would be the Benchmade logo. But don't have that much cash to spend on a tat like that. this is going to be a cover up of a worse tat i got from a friend when i was 16 that needs to get covered soon and for cheap. Any thoughts of more creative/art tats would definately like to hear of them though. Might spend the extra cash for it going somewhere else on the body that doesn't have to cover an existing tattoo. I don't mind being a walking billboard for Benchmade.:o Probably going to get somehting involving Becker's too.

What ever tat you get, look into the new 3D tattoos. Pretty amazing what they can do.

One of the regulars on the BKC Forum had a 3550 Pardue auto tattooed on himself. He received a free 3550 from them as a result...but that's one heckuva commitment to a brand product.

Hey Ulf, are you going to get a butterfly tramp stamp??
:D

I think i'm going to get ahold of Benchmade and see if i could get the same deal with something. My body means nothing to me when it comes to getting a free knife.:)

When i first started looking at knives Benchmade was not appealing to me because of the pretty butterfly logo. thought "there's no way I'm gonna be walking around with a sissy little butterfly on my blade". Couple years later 90% of my knives now are Benchmade and getting a butterfly tattooed on my flesh is something i never thought would happen ever.:D Probably going to get a BK tat also too. Any idea's for a Becker tat would also be appriciated. Maybe I'll just get a big BK for the cover up tat.

Advanced Armament Corp did the same thing some years back, you get a tattoo of one of their logos (several to choose from) and they would give you free suppressor up to $1000. Was a pretty good deal since those suppressors are fairly expensive and some of the designs weren't half bad. They didn't say the company name and you wouldn't know what it was unless you were an AAC fan. It was a pretty big success from what I remember. I half considered participating but a tattoo is forever and might have regretted it later on.

I truly hope you're joking on both fronts. tattoos aren't. and you need to take a step back and reevaluate if your eyes are on a prize...

Not joking at all. I'm going to get a Benchmade tattoo anyways so if they would give me a nice balisong, auto, or anything it would seal the deal.Espeically if they paid for the tattoo also i would be absolutely be unable not to do it. I'd do that kind of deal for any descent knife manufacturer. And there's alot of them.

Nobody will know what it is unless you tell them. They will just think you wanted a butterfly tattoo. Same thing happens when I wear my benchmade shirt. I get "So what, you like butterflies or something" all the time.
If you do get it, we want pictures! (depending on where the tat is:what: )

That's why i'm definately getting Benchmade written on the fly.

You might consider getting yourself a "tramp stamp" tattoo.

Sorry Ulf but that's what I was thinking too. The only people that will understand a Butterfly tattoo on a man are Benchmade aficionados. To everyone else that doesn't know the BM logo, it'll look a strange having a butterfly. Might as well get a rainbow unicorn.

Make sure you put it on your forearm so any cop walking by will see it.

No it needs to be centered on the lower back. That would DEFINITELY be worth a free Benchmade if he posts pics during and after as proof. I'd gladly donate to the cause LOL :D
