I've been to Home Depot,Ace Hardware,Lowe's,& a few plumbing supply places.I can't find them anywhere.I'm wasting more money on gas than what the washers would cost:grumpy:

I want to replace the steel washers in my BM635 with the new damascus blade with teflon ones, for a smoother action. It's already kinda smooth, but could be better.

Any suggestions or even links would be greatly appreciated.

I live around the Woodbridge/Edison,NJ area, but wouldn't hesitate to buy online.

Thanks,
John

Nevermind guys.I did a google search for "assorted teflon washers" & came up with 3,850 results.I can probably find what I need from at least a few of them.
Thanks again:thumbup:

Think I'm gonna go with these guys

My 635 came from benchmade with the white washers. If you got your 635 second hand maybe they switched the washers? Try giving benchmade a call?

Really?Did you get the Gold series?I got the Blue series & it has metallic washers.
I wonder how they would feel about me changing the blade?I'm pretty sure if you take apart a benchmade, you void the warranty.

Thanks So-Lo:thumbup:

Bummer:grumpy:..I'll just have to put my own in.:D

I got her nice & sharp!...got the diamond tri-stones the other day.They work amazing:eek:

I had two about a year or so ago, and they both had Teflon washers from BM. Both were plain ol' blue box 635s. :o

Well I guess mine either slipped through QC or I've been had:o

I love the way this knife feels in my hand. It's hard to describe the feel of Titanium..not quite steel, not quite aluminum...juuuust right;)

I'm starting to like taking apart my knives, tuning them up & seein' what maksem' tick;)

:D I hear ya JTR! :D

Teflon will give it that butter like action your looking for.

:thumbup:Thanks Vassili....food for thought.Maybe I'll get both & tryem' out in different knives.

Sure, it is not expensive and worse to try. I replace teflon on phos-bronze in my Yuna Hard and blade just starts flying - I want it on all my knives from that point. Kershaw also have them on thair flipper-knives where smoothness is more important.

Teflon has it's place, but for blade I think bronze is just the best.

Thanks, Vassili.

Custom makers use either Nylatron [nylon impregnated with molybdenum disulfide] or phosphor bronze.
