Tell me your stories about your victorinox knives,
nearly everyone has got one
and nearly everyone has had a day thats been saved by victorinox pocket knife tool,

ive told many stories about them. ive almost always carried one from when i was about 10 and its been either in my pocket or in my schoolbag since :D
So tell me and the rest of the forums what you and your victorinox have been through.
Thanks :D

Got two.

1. In High School, we changed the fuel pump on my truck with just a Swiss Champ.

2. (and favorite), was Dec. 26th 1991, I received a new Swiss Champ for XMASS, and the next day as an EMT used it to cut the leather jacket and boots off of a crash victim that it turned out worked in the store where the knife was purchased. :)

Just used mine last week to open a can when my wife and I were car camping. Brought a truckload of stuff, but no can opener!

Use tweezers all the time, now I carry a Rambler.

manual can opener died 2 weeks ago. been using opener on classic soldier since with great results. wife wants another can opener though.

Bought my first Vic when I was 8. Promptly cut my finger open while cutting torwards myself. Taught me to be alot more careful with a knife. Still got the scar on my knuckle. :o

You wont find much more of a coincidence anywhere else would you?

I have a Swiss knife in all my cars, trucks, Harley, boat, atv, etc.. Your seeing a pattern here. I am a hard core bow hunter and a few years ago I helped my brother-in-law track a downed deer. There were 5 of us in the woods with lights, walkies, etc and when we found the deer, the only thing everyone forgot to bring was their hunting knifes.:D So back to my truck to fetch my trusty Swiss Army Woodsman model to field dress the deer.

In highschool, me and a bunch of friends went to Kings Dominion theme park, which was about an hour and a half drive. Well, as soon as we get there, what do I do? I locked the car keys in the car. Ooops! Just out of desperation, I put the small screwdriver (next to the chisel) of my swiss champ into the lock and gave it a turn. Amazingly, it opened! I played it off cool like I knew what I was doing, but in reality it was dumb luck and I've never been able to do it again. Swiss Champ saved the day and earned me some MacGyver points!

Haha I like this one..

For me I got my first when I was about 8 no special stories but it has been a great tool for me and my family

As a kid I dropped my semi-new (Christmas or Birthday present) Vic Champion in the lake while fishing. It disappeared into the muck and I was crushed. One year to the day later, my best friend was fishing in the same spot. He found and returned my knife. The nail file had a bit of rust on it but other than that - the knife was in great shape.

We still use it in the kitchen to this day (about 35 years later).

I used my spartan to unscrew my rifle scope when i went to hunt and forgot i hadn't even tested it since i put it back on. :foot:

I've been in many desperate situations where a bottle of wine needed to be uncorked. My Victorinox always came though.

Well I've had one in my pocket since I was about 8, in that time I've opened many a can, screwed/unscrewed things, opened bottles (pop, beer and wine), made extra holes in a couple belts, pulled apart stubborn knots, pulled out splinters, sawn off branches for whittling and then whittled those branches into useful things. My Swiss army knives have paid for themselves many times over. I guess that's not really a story but it adds up to a well used knife at least.

Only real story I have would be when I lost my first SAK and then years later when my family was throwing our couch away I had a hunch and decided to cut it open (with my replacement SAK) and my old knife which I had engraved with my name, came spilling out. Threw it right back in my pocket. Lost plenty of change to the couch but I couldn't let it steal my first SAK!

Love that story tye, ive lost loads down the back of the sofa, once i found a bottle of vodka :) i dint tell my mum though :D

Repaired the bike of a girlfirend, no tools at hand (how about that) so my SwissTool and the climber got the job done.

Once dropped my car-keys into the manhole, fished them out with a shoelace and the canopener on my Spartan, the SO holding the Fenix ;-)

Used the scissors on the Climber to open a clamshell-package for an old lady, which nearly broke down, trying to get the pacifier out for her granddaughter, silence is sometimes really golden...

- Used the fish scaler to unlock the door of an old Mitsubishi Galant. The key was left inside.
- Used the pliers to unscrew the bolt of a malfunctioning oven that was beeping constantly and making everybody go crazy
- Used the screwdriver at the end of the can opener to remove a deformed door lock plate so the bedroom door can be locked at night and "business" can take place :D
- Unscrew the screw holding the battery compartment on numerous toys with the mini phillips screwdriver on Vic Manager. Toys without battery can make your entire day go south.

Used my tinkerer once to patch up a nuclear reactor ;) lol

Seriously though, I used my tinkerer recently to do an emergency bike repair, after I took a spill.

I actually carry 2 Vic SAK's a lot of the time (as well as two or three other folders).

My first Victorinox was the classic Soldier model about three years ago. I was pretty impressed with the fit and how well thought out the design was. Over the years the thing that keeps that knife in my pouch is the awl. I use that awl more than the screwdriver on my Leatherman sometimes. Especially when working with horse tack day in day out at camp during the summer.
Then there's the Solo that I sharpened to ten degrees per side. Mmmm that's a nice edge. Especially when everyone else has nothing but table knives for their steak.
