Thai Machete

I have a few of them and they are great! Probably my favorite model sword in the machete line. The weight and balance is perfect.

I've read one complaint a couple of times. Anyone feel the round handle turn in the hand?

The first ~8" of handle from the guard back actually has flats on the sides. They aren't dramatic, but they seem to work okay for me. If you felt the need for something more noticeable, you could always file each side of the handle. There's plenty of material there to work with.

Ah....that's not obvious from pics I've seen. Good to know. Thx.

How is the factory edge on this machete? I have the "heavy" machete, and the large Kukri machete. Both needed some work before they were useable. I'm wondering if this is a common thing for all their machetes.

Most all machetes need some work, some more than others. My personal experience with Cold Steel machetes (of which I have five) is that the last year or so has seen a VAST improvement in the quality of out of the box edges.

Generally speaking, you can expect to put some work into most machetes...Condor are an exception, but even theirs don't often come perfect. As for Cold Steel, their newer ones are a lot better than their older models(with the exception of the older models that got new handles, like the Panga and Bolo, the newer versions need just as much work as the old), though you may still want to touch them up some.

Very cool, thanakrit. I'm a sucker for anything long and pointy, such as swords/machetes. Where do those come from? Are they available to those of us who don't live in the region?
