Well,
First let me say it's a pleasure to be here. I look forward to the dialogue.
Thank you to Kevin of Blade Forums, and my friend Andy Prisco for his motivation. If I didn't do this he would never leave me alone.

Urban Jungle is a term that I like to use to remind people that we truly still live in a jungle. It amazes me that there is a large percentage of our population that rely on the police or some one else to keep them secure or safe from anything bad. I am not just refering to the criminal element but any incident that could cause harm; a fuel truck on the railroad tracks, an airplane crashing, walking into a robbery of a store or bank.
I think that people often just think that it will never happen to them. Remember, the majority of the time when a police officer arrives, he is there to take a report, thus suggesting "it" already happened.
Urban Jungle (U.J.) exists for those who beleive in controling their own environments, whether it is for their individual safety or their family and friends. I also hope that this site can serve to give all those interested a foundation to pass onto others any information that would be beneficial. Finally, I hope to be able to help those of you out there that are trying to convince others of the values of these same beliefs.

Hey there!
Welcome aboard and all that happy sh...stuff.
:)
Thanks for the explanation... I think a lot of members here are aware of what you said, but it's good to read it in a straightforward manner.
(Woulda taken me about 10,000 words to say the same thing)
Guess the only thing I'd add is that even in rural areas, the need for awareness holds true.
I'm originally from NJ and worked 6 years in midtown NYC.. so I'm fairly familiar with the urban aspect..but now I live in a rural part of Nevada (We have BROTHELS in town, LEGAL ONES!!) and while a good portion of the populace has CCW permits, and open carry is allowed, there's still the violent garbage that occurs.
My wife just told me about her friend whose husband beat her in front of witnesses (who called the police, but did nothing else) and after having been hauled into his car by her hair, escaped, only to be chased by this guy in his car, trying to run her down.
The police arrived to see this idiot's actions, and charged him with attempted manslaughter...
Anyways, a longer response time from the police may have led to her being injured/killed...
Thought I'd relay the story to show that even in a well armed, polite community, hit happens.
Hey, what happened to my "s" key?

Anyhow, thanks for showing up, CJ, and I hope ya get something out of US as well!

Welcome Chris,
It was a pleasure to meet you and to spend some time with you in Atlanta at the ATC table
I will be eagerly waiting to hear your thoughts on knife design and carry systems. It looks like your forum is off to a great start. Keep up the good work.

CJ, to have someone of your renown join us is a real pleasure. What you have to offer is going to help people understand their environment much better, and how to survive in the urban jungle. I for one am going to enjoy this very much. BTW welcome aboard.

Welcome Chris and thanks for contributing here at the Forums.
I understand and respect the mindset that this Forum represents.
Looking forward to discussions.

95Bravo...
Ya sign the dotted line at a real estate thingie that says ya own land in... hmm... I probably shouldn't say where I live, but the town's name starts with a P and ends with a P and in the middle, there's A, H, R, U, P.
It's in Nevada.
Land's really cheap around here, it rains about 10 days a year, and it's really hot!
(That doesn't sound too great until ya realize that the heat makes the ladies wear itty-bitty clothing.)
Oh, there's also gambling, so all vices are covered!

Sleepless in Pahrump,
I remain,
VG
(DOH!)

Good to have you here Chris.

Sorry it took me so long to post. But better late than never.
