Anyone have experience buying or dealing with an online knife store called The Best Knife Shop?

I placed an order 10 days ago for an in-stock knife, Spyderco Para 3. Site says they ship within 24 to 40 hours. My online account still shows the order as Processing. I’ve sent numerous emails inquiring on status with no response. I had originally thought they were a US based business but, not so sure. No phone number or address on site Contact page. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated before I take this to the next level.

Found this:

Which led me to this:

There's 4 other threads, all the same. I'd start taking it to the next level. Good luck.

Thank you, appreciate the response. I did do a search but, nothing came up. I recall seeing the Knife Silo site also when searching, it’s still out there. So hopefully enough posts out there now for others checking if legit or not.

Thank you all for your inputs. After engaging both PayPal and my credit card company, the seller has issued a refund/credit to my card. I had sent numerous emails to the seller and their customer service rep’s, no response to any. So not sure if it was my email bombardment or PayPal that got it resolved. Regardless, I’m relieved it’s done.

I'm going to add to this thread here.
I bought a what I thought was a Spyderco Wolfspyder. The price was close to what it should be I figured it looked OK and they perhaps got a few somehow... They shipped me a knife rather quickly, I might add. It shipped from right here in California. One problem. It is a ZT 0350. It appears to be a legit 0350 (or a VERY good clone), it compares to my real ZT 0350 very well, but that is not what I ordered or want. They so far only want to credit me a few dollars and don't seem interested in any return. I offered to exchange for another knife they have in stock and "because of black Friday sale they don't have anything in stock." At this point I have stated I want a full refund plus shipping and I will return the knife. No response yet. I will give them a day. I have been taking screenshots and capturing all the evidence I can for Paypal if need be. I will update this when I get new info/results.

Deliberately mailing unordered merchandise by U.S. Mail constitutes a gift. 39 U.S. Code § 3009

(a). . . [T]he mailing of unordered merchandise . . . constitutes an unfair method of competition and an unfair trade practice in violation of section 45(a)(1) of title 15 [U.S. Code].

(b)Any merchandise mailed in violation of subsection (a) of this section, or within the exceptions contained therein, may be treated as a gift by the recipient, who shall have the right to retain, use, discard, or dispose of it in any manner he sees fit without any obligation whatsoever to the sender. All such merchandise shall have attached to it a clear and conspicuous statement informing the recipient that he may treat the merchandise as a gift to him and has the right to retain, use, discard, or dispose of it in any manner he sees fit without any obligation whatsoever to the sender."

When I received an unordered item instead of the much more valuable item that had purchased on eBay, I asked the seller where my purchase was. The seller said it was the "best I can do" and would not discuss any refund.

PP said I had to mail it back at my expense to get a refund through them. The law, as you see, says otherwise.

I had my bank cancel payment, and I told the seller I would mail the substitute back when I recceived the price of shipping.

It will be three years Febrary 1st, and the knife in question is sitting on top of my PC - waiting.

Interesting.
They have responded with an offer to refund $70 now and the balance plus shipping upon receipt. I have not escalated this to PP yet since they are negotiating.
I'm not so sure I will get the balance and the shipping. I think PP would force the refund, but as you pointed out, probably not the shipping.

If you pay with a credit card through PP, PP can no longer dictate the outcome, so long as you act within the time limits set by your credit card company and by te method they require - often a snail mail letter.

Just reading their terms and conditions, & shipping info will, or should take away any and all desire to do business with them.

I do not believe they are US based. Package "tracking" is via 17track.net. ever, ever heard of that one?

Anytime that I can't find a phone number and an address for a mail order company, it is a big red flag

Pretty much I can only deal with DLT, knifeworks, gpknives, knifeworks, kniveshipfree, and Amazon (yeah I know the last one is not bf sponsor but still).
