I am by no means an expert on knives of different knife companies, but a friend of mine is about to have a birthday and he is a big collector of daggers. Does anybody out there know of a really high quality dagger, price is not an issue, I’m just looking for the best dagger money can buy, or at least a damn good one. I found a couple of good ones, I’m just wondering if anybody found anything better.

If anybody can find anything or know of anything better please, please, PLEASE let me know, it will be greatly appreciated.

Randall's Guardian (?) is a great piece and is readily available in the aftermarket.

Thank you everybody for helping me out, and thank you again USAFSP for the great links.
I have made my choice and am getting him 2 daggers, one cold steel tai pan, and the blackmoore. Again thank you everybody for your help.

I gotta say I was blown away by the Corkum dagger USAFSP linked to, too bad he has such a shady rep, I really like several of his designs.

For around $1200, a Mick Strider custom version of the famous V-42 dagger would do nicely. :)

I've had my eyes on a Kershaw Trooper and the Protech Walter Brend dagger for a while. I'd love a pair of the PT Brends, one black/micarta, one satin/maple burl.

Around $200 for these, give or take.

I'd go with the CS Taipan. It's wider and better for cutting than most. And I like the skull crusher. It has really great balance to it.

OR
If you're looking for something a bit longer, you can always get a Fallkniven mine probe.
I like daggers, but I've never been too keen on buying them. They only have a limited usefulness, and can be dangerous to the user if using them for utility work.
