Amici,
I've been using my large Voyagers for EDC allot as of late, and I'm kinda leaning to picking up one of the XL versions but I'm not too sure which would be the best fit.

I do not plan on engaging in a knife fight with anyone nor do I plan on an encounter with any lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!.. either.

But I do like the idea of a big lightweight folder for EDC without the weight of the Spartan..

Now would it be the Tanto, Clip, or the Vaquero I don't know, I'm still undecided..

Or maybe I'll just scrap the idea of using an XL for edc and stick with a large. If that's going to be the case, then the last version I would need to get would be a Vaquero..

Opinions? Inquiring minds would like to know..

Cheers,
Serge

Yes, the Clip-Point is most likely the best EDC version.

They can be found at very good prices too.

I have an xl clip point and a xl Vaquero, and I like them equally. I have a concealed carry permit as well, to be on the safe (safer) side. I generally don't carry them due to their size. I prefer the 4 inch version.
I like the 6 inch aluminum ti-lite better. It is more compact, but is heavy and sturdy enough that it can be used as a light baton. I like to carry it when I walk my dog.

I don't do practical when I buy knives so while the clip point could be the most versatile it's simply an ugly shaped blade in my opinion. I have both the XL vaquero and XL tanto voyagers and both open very easily probably because they're both blade heavy. Most importantly, they both look good.

X2 ugly?

I tend the carry the large clip. My impression of the XL's............. The Tanto blade is thicker than the clip I believe, and I consider the XL clip to be a very light weight knife for its size, surprisingly light. It's been a while since I've had the big ones out for air.

I carry the XL Voyager Clip Point daily since our laws changed here July 1. Between it and a Buck Stockman I can do 'bout anything a feller can do with knives.

Have any Voyager owners here considered removing the thumb studs, and doing the ziptie wave mod?

Most of the year I will carry a fixed blade (6-10.5" IWB depending on how I'm dressed), but in winter, when wearing many more layers, I keep an XL or X-2 Voyager in the strong side pocket of the outer garment (jacket or vest) that I might wear. They live there so I don't forget when I decide what to wear for the existing conditions. Knives used: XL Tanto, XL Clip Point, X-2 Vaquero. X-2 Clip Point lives in my truck.
