To the inquiry above about clearing blackberry vines, if doing it by hand, a brush hook works well. It is a machete type thinner blade with a long handle to avoid the thorns. Wear heavy leather padded gloves that protect the wrist. A tractor with a shredder really works well and the school district maintenace staff should have one.
