The Endura? Really.

Historically, most of my collection & carry has consisted of what I’d characterize as “nicer” knives: think > $200…Taichung Spydies, CRK, Microtech, ZT, & the like.

In 2018-ish I wanted something purpose specific for a week long sailing trip. SE Pac Salt was the obvious answer.

Sadly, that knife now sleeps with the fishes, as does Pac Salt #2…I’m currently on #3, and I’m completely committed to the knife for “on-watter” purposes.

After some close encounters with unfriendly canines, I wanted another purpose specific knife. The Matriarch was/is the obvious answer.

Next, I needed a purpose specific knife for yard work. The SE Enuff K390 wasn’t available yet, so the Endura analog was perfect for the job.

I slowly noticed that the Matriarch and SE Endura were spending more and more time in pocket, so I decided to embrace the Endura as an EDC.

Wow! What a knife! If you want something that cuts like a beast without clogging your pocket, breaking the bank, or falling apart, the Endura can’t be beat!

I’m a believer in the Endura! Masterpiece defined.

I love the Endura, it’s one of my favorite folders!

I am like you, have benchmades and a 15v paramilitary2 that I got to be my "nice knife" to edc, and a k390 delica as my work knife. I was shocked how much I liked the plastic handle "cheap" delica vs my "nicer" knives. But I kept gravitating to it. Anyhow my wife noticed and for father's day bought me an Endela in k390 and it have not put it down since. It has I think a bit harder HT than my delica and it is a cutting beast. It's almost hard to describe, makes me question what I really want in a knife. I THOUGHT I wanted fancy g10 scales and a slick compression lock and balked at old grandpa lockbacks. But this darn endela I love it, apparently I actually value high cutting performance, very useful blade shape, super ergonomic handles. Love this thing. And the k390 is a treat! It's making it hard for me to want to shop for other knives. I am bow only thinking of one day filling out the collection with an endura and police 4.

I have several more expensive knives, but the Endela K390 and S20V is what always ends up in my pocket. It seems to be the perfect size for my hand and EDC. One of the best!

I love the Endura, it is the one knife I always go back to. I'd love to see the K390 with dlc coating in black.

The Endura is a masterful design refined over decades. It's my understanding that Spyderco can't figure out how to make it any better....neither can I, except for maybe full carbon fiber, linerless scales, but that would triple if not quadruple the price even if we stick with VG-10. This is my only one. Had it since the sprint run started. Needed to have it!

I'd argue the endura 4 was a downgrade from the 3, at least in ergonomics. All the 3 needed was screw together construction imo
I agree the 3 had a very nice handle and clip, I prefer it and carry an older Pacific Salt with that handle. That handle would need redesigning in order to come all the way apart, they were one piece.

Endura 4 was one of my first "nicer" knives and I used that a lot, but that heel on the blade always bothered me. After getting a Stretch 2 in K390 the Endura has been sitting in the box untouched. Better grind, better ergonomic and a better steel, it's overall a better knife imo.

This is similar to my experience with the Manix 2 LW. Then I carried the Endura again and its value was renewed in my mind due to how slim it carries in the pocket. Stretch and Manix Are both wider. Better cutters but more pocket real estate.

I too carry a Pacific Salt but it has the screw together construction. Took it entirely apart for cleaning and it isn't hard at all even being a one piece handle.

I do agree the endura 4 carries nicely for how slim it is, it could be the beginning of the reason I prefer slim long bladed knives now even though I no longer have an E4.
